Stream Monitoring Workshop
July 6, 2019
Stream monitoring workshop, Sat., July 6 at 9:00 a.m. Led by Tom Fahsbender, a 9 year volunteer with Connecticut’s Riffle Bioassessment by Volunteers program, a volunteer water quality monitoring protocol developed and administered by the CT DEEP Bureau of Water Protection & Land Reuse. We will be collecting and identifying invertebrates that live at the bottoms of the water habitat in order to determine brook health. We will be working in Tamarack Brook, just west of the forestry office. No experience necessary, just a willingness to wade in streams and get wet!
Adults and children age 10 and up are welcome. Bring a drink and snack.
Meet at 9:00 a.m. at GMF’s forestry office, 201 Windrow Rd., Norfolk, CT.
